The 2-day "policy lab" is intended for:
education policy experts;
representatives of municipal and government agencies developing and implementing education policies;
representatives of NGOs working with the integration of migrants.
Structure and Topics:
The event will consist of three learning sessions with presentations by lecturers/ experts followed by two moderated
solution-generating sessions.
The learning sessions will consist of presentations by experts on education and migration policy with following
commentary and critique / alternative perspective from another expert. The invited experts will represent academic and think-tank perspectives as well as the perspectives of international organisations.
Education of migrants: Where are we now?
Segregation of students with migration background in comprehensive schools: equity and free choice dilemmas
The solution-generating sessions will use creative thinking techniques and scenario method to arrive at innovative
solutions for two areas of migration/ education policy issues:
Segregation, self-segregation and marginalisation: the search for new solutions
Setting up policies for the education of migrants where there were none before
